Popthai the Sailor

Today started off slow. I woke up early and checked my email and messed around on the computer. Then I picked up our laundry. After Jason woke up we went to the nearby beach for some food and sun basking. It was fun to soak in some of the beach season here in Thailand.

After the beach Jason and I ended up going Ang Sila, a nearby fishing village. There we went around with a Thai friend and met a bunch of people. We were also kind of promotiong ou English classes that we are going to be starting there next week. All in all it was a great evening!

These are fruit bats. There are a bunch around here and they are massive! When they fly they look almost as big as a Canadian goose.

During the evening the tide goes out. These are birds who can't wait for this to happen so that they can catch some food as the water level decreases.

This is a huge mansion right near where Ricky and Karen live. It was abandoned a few years ago after the Asian stock market crashed. It reminds me of a building in Jurassic Park.
